REINBECK – The Gladbrook-Reinbeck Booster Club hosted its annual Hall of Fame Dinner and Reception on Saturday, Jan. 4, at the Oak Leaf Country Club in Reinbeck.

The guest speaker this year was Colton Dinsdale (son of Lora and Kirk Dinsdale), a member of the Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School Class of 2016 highly revered among Rebel football fans. After graduation, Dinsdale played linebacker for Iowa Western Community College before accepting a preferred walk-on offer from the Iowa Hawkeyes ahead of the 2018-19 season. He graduated from Iowa in Dec. 2020 with a business degree.

Among those honored this year by the Booster Club, G-R alums Megan Stull (Class of 1996) and Matt Wyatt (Class of 1992) were inducted as the 2024 HOF Athletes. The school district wrote on Facebook of the two former athletes, “[Two] athletes that worked hard to be the best they could be and made others around them better. Not to mention great athletes too.”

Coach Bruce Bailey was inducted as this year’s HOF Coach. Bailey logged over 34 years coaching for the Rebels and was a “tremendous person of character for all the kids he coached,” the district wrote.

The 2001 Class 1A football team was inducted as one of two 2024 HOF Teams. The Class 1A team was the district’s first football team to qualify for the state tournament. The Rebels ended the 2001-2002 season with an overall record of 8-2 after being crowned District Co-Champions. They lost the first round of playoffs to Aplington-Parkersburg 41-7.

The 1999 Class 1A boys golf team – the district’s first state champion team, also coached by Chris Ehrhardt – was inducted alongside the 2001 football team.

Darren and Sue Trunck – the longtime, former owners of Reinbeck’s only independent grocery store, Trunck’s Country Foods (now the Reinbeck Country Store) – were inducted as 2024 HOF Community Members.
