Club’s 65th birthday open house set for April 27 at Peace Church
GLADBROOK – After 65 years of dedication to his community, Gladbrook Lions Charter Member Leroy Thomsen continues to follow the Club’s motto “We Serve.”
During the Gladbrook Lions Club regular meeting on Thursday, March 27, held at Peace Church, Thomsen was presented with a certificate in honor of his 65 years of membership. He was on the first charter membership that started the group in 1960, and is the only one left today.
Also recognized during the meeting, new member April Bruene was welcomed into membership. Her dad, Martin Bruene, was a longtime member of the Gladbrook Lions Club.
As part of the monthly meeting, members enjoyed a delicious ham ball dinner prepared by the Hometown Family Market.
The Club decided to have an open house in honor of their 65th birthday on Sunday, April 27, from 2-4 p.m., at Peace Church. The community is welcome to attend and help celebrate a very special event in the history of the Gladbrook Lions Club.
