GLADBROOK – The Gladbrook American Legion and Auxiliary enjoyed a Christmas supper on Dec. 11, with Jr. Auxiliary members and their families in attendance as well.

During the supper, the Juniors conducted their annual Candlelight Christmas Program. The girls explained the meaning of the “Symbols of the Season.” They also explained the significance of bows on presents. The Juniors handed out the bows to the veterans first and then to everyone attending.

Everyone was really intrigued by the “M&M Christmas Story.” As you turn the ‘M’ it becomes a ‘W,’ an ‘E,’ and a ‘3.’ The ‘E’ is for the East, where the star shone so bright. The ‘M’ is for the manger, where the baby Jesus slept. The ‘3’ is for the Wise Men, bearing gifts. ‘W’ is for worship, ‘Hallelujah’ Praise His Name! So as you eat these candies or share them with a friend, remember the true Spirit of Christmas and never let it end! An “M&M Prayer for Christmas” was read.

The Jr. program concluded with a reading of “Country Christmas Poem,” and singing carols. Everyone had a candle and enjoyed singing Christmas carols ending with “Silent Night” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”
