TOLEDO – As the morning frost fought a losing battle against the rising sun of the new day, locals stretched, yawned, and made their way to the Nov. 12 meeting of the Tama County Board of Supervisors.

Held on Tuesday due to the Veterans Day holiday, the meeting started off like it does most weeks with the Tama County Engineer’s regular report.

After all the usual pleasantries were dispensed with, the engineer reported that blades and rock checks were out, and the worse off gravel roads were being fixed up for winter. In preparation for the coming winter, snow fronts and other items have been dealt with. Grading is being done, as well as the progressing work on the LL Avenue bridge.

The annual urban renewal report for FY24 was approved.

The supervisors approved changing the date and time of the first tier election canvass to Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 11:30 a.m.

Claims totaling $475,318.10 were approved.
