Kids Shopping Day coming soon!
12th annual event in need of volunteers
GLADBROOK – Gladbrook’s 12th annual Kids Shopping Day is right around the corner. The special shopping day for kids is Saturday, Dec. 14, from 9 a.m. to noon at Peace Church.
Kids Shopping Day is a community effort to honor Jesus on His birthday by serving the children and families in the area. The Children & Youth Committee wants to offer the youth of our community an opportunity to be personally involved in choosing, wrapping, and giving gifts to their family members this Christmas. We know that by giving simple gifts, our kids can more fully experience the joy that caring for others brings. It’s also the perfect time for us to remind the children of the precious gift God gave to the world on the first Christmas…our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Who can shop?
Anyone from the age of 3 through seniors in high school. No family member will be allowed to help their children. The 3- and 4-year-olds – if needed, 5-year-olds as well – will be aided by a volunteer.
How to volunteer
If you would like to join our team you could:
*Volunteer to wrap gifts.
*Help to set out ‘merchandise’ Dec. 11-12.
*Make items to share with our shoppers.
*Come and take the hand of a little one and help them pick out a special gift for someone they love.
*Offer a hand to help clean up after a busy, but very heart-warming day.
*Of course, donate new or gently used items (no clothes except collegiate) to be used as ‘merchandise’ for ALL AGES… AT NO CHARGE. (Bring items to the MC or Peace Church). *Financial donations are also appreciated so the committee can purchase items where needed.
*Men, we need you on Tuesday, Dec. 10, to haul in tables and gifts. Meet at Peace Church at 8 a.m. There will be treats!
Helpers on Dec. 14 need to be at Peace Church by 8:15 a.m. Call Jeanne at 641-751-2039 to get involved! We need at least 80 men and women volunteers on Dec. 14.
Join the fun to prepare for Kids Shopping Day on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 9 a.m. to noon, as we reach out to bless others in Christ’s name.
