REINBECK – The Iowa DOT has recommended awarding $279,786 in State Recreational Trails funds to the Grundy County Conservation Board. With support from the lowa Northland Regional Council of Governments (INRCOG), the Grundy County Conservation Board applied for funding for the Pioneer Trail Reinbeck Gap project, which will create a 1.3-mile paved trail along IA 175, connecting Elmwood Park in Reinbeck to the existing trailhead at Gutknecht Roadside Park. This project will extend the current six-mile Pioneer Trail all the way to Reinbeck.
