Gladbrook Auxiliary prepares for Memorial Day

GLADBROOK – Memorial Day and its activities are a very busy time for the Gladbrook Auxiliary ladies. They start off by cutting greens for the 500 small wreaths to lay at each Veteran’s grave at six local cemeteries. This challenge was met by a crew of 11 members and Georgette Edel of the former Lincoln AmVets. They were Marilyn Carstensen, Candice Bartel, Lori Sanderson, Julie Hooper, Joyce Swangel, Shelley Jordebrek, Eleonor Lott, Chris Hickman, Trudy Scott and Laramie, Katy Chizek and Jolene Denbow. The Gladbrook Legion places the Avenue of Flags at Union Grove, Crystal, Gethmann, and Badger, while the Lincoln AmVets take care of Lincoln Township and Maple Hill cemeteries.
