Support for Garwin Public Library

Many in the community of Garwin give their time, talent, and treasure to support the invaluable resource that is the Garwin Public Library.
Recently the library thanked those who do so on their Facebook page, writing “whether it be a case of cereal for snack time, toilet paper rolls, books, candy, crayons, monetary gifts or even the donation of your time … We appreciate the community for their generous support.”
The library was recently asked if there were specific donations that could be made toward its children’s programming. The following would be welcome donations to the program, according to the library’s Facebook posting: fuzzy socks, mugs for hot cocoa at home, chapsticks, hand warmers, fidget toys such as monkey noodles, Pop Its and squishy toys, and gum.
Rural public libraries – whether it be Garwin’s or elsewhere – operate as important community hubs and are a lifeline for many people.
